A literary evening dedicated to the work of the writer Alexander Kuprin was held in the library of the St. Petersburg Nakhimov VMU for 11th grade students. The event called “Kuprin: Personality, Creativity, Time” required a certain literary preparation and appropriate mood, since a serious topic was discussed – they talked about love and relationships.

As an illustration of the narrative about the relationship, Kuprin’s story “Garnet Bracelet”, small in volume, but colossal in content, was taken. To analyze the work and find an answer to the two main questions of the evening, each class was offered the Six Thinking Hats technique. Each team had to choose a hat with a style of thinking that best suited their interests: facts, emotions, creativity, positivity, negativity, and coordination.

After an hour of discussion, discussion and defending their point of view, each team came to their own conclusions. For example, in the 111th grade there were diametrically opposite views on a controversial issue. And in the 113th grade, the Nakhimovites were unanimous in their verdict to the main characters of the story. However, one thing has remained unchanged – each pupil has personally brought up ideas and values for himself that will help him in the future to decide in such difficult life situations. This means that the organizers, who decided to hold a literary evening, have fulfilled their task.
