1.5 thousand emergency teams of engineering companies and prefectures are ready to promptly respond to possible emergency situations.
City services work on high alert due to non-working days and holidays from October 28 to November 7 inclusive. This was announced by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Housing and Communal Services and Improvement Peter Biryukov.
“All enterprises and companies of the municipal economy complex have been put on high alert,” noted Pyotr Biryukov. “1.5 thousand emergency teams of engineering companies and prefectures are ready to promptly respond to possible emergency situations, all of them are equipped with specialized equipment and emergency power supplies”.
The deputy mayor stressed that control over the operation of power grid facilities, compliance with fire safety measures and anti-terrorist protection of engineering and communal and fuel and energy infrastructure has been strengthened.
Pyotr Biryukov said that all measures have been taken in the capital to ensure the uninterrupted functioning of life support systems on non-working days and holidays.
According to him, resource supplying organizations did not reveal a significant increase in the consumption of electricity, water and gas in the past periods of self-isolation. No increase in resource consumption is forecasted on these non-working days either.
“Thanks to the existing capacity reserves, all the city’s life support systems are ready for any load, including maximum ones,” he stressed. “For example, about three million cubic meters of drinking water is supplied to the capital every day, and the design capacity of water treatment plants is more than six million cubic meters per day.”
