Fighter pilots of the Leningrad Army of the Air Force and Air Defense of the Western Military District, during a control check during the summer training period, destroyed training air targets at the Ashuluk training ground in the Astrakhan region.

Crews of multipurpose super-maneuverable fighters Su-35S of generation 4 ++, supersonic fighter-interceptors MiG-31BM, multipurpose Su-30SM made flights from Tver, Kursk regions and the Republic of Karelia to the Privolzhsky airfield, located in the Astrakhan region. Then the pilots flew to the Ashuluk firing range to perform live firing with R-73 guided missiles.

When repelling a massive missile air strike, SAB-250-270 luminous aviation multi-flare bombs and M6 training parachute heat bombs were used as targets, which simulate enemy air targets in passive radar and thermal modes.

In addition, on the ground, the engineering and technical staff complied with the standards for preparing aircraft for takeoff and equipping them with aviation guided missiles.

In total, during training flights, the crews of the fighter aviation of the association performed more than 60 sorties to the Ashuluk range.
