In Yekaterinburg, a round table was held, at which representatives of the football club “Totem” presented a large social project “Start from scratch”, implemented jointly with the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia with the financial support of the Presidential Grants Fund.

The goal of the project is to involve juvenile convicts as much as possible in sports, cultural, educational and other socially useful activities that contribute to their socialization.

Development Director of FC Totem Evgeny Ivanov told the round table participants about the project: “Our project is being implemented in Russia for the first time, but this is not so much our merit as the need of time. In the first place are the issues of resocialization, that is, the return to society of those people who have stumbled, especially if they are adolescents. “

Representatives of public organizations that are involved in the re-socialization of convicts also shared their experience in this area.

Also at the meeting, the head of the Main Directorate of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for the Sverdlovsk Region, Lieutenant General of the Internal Service Alexander Fedorov and the president of the children’s football club “Totem” Sergei Gorbunov discussed the most acute problems faced in the department in the issue of re-socialization of juvenile convicts.

In addition, on October 29, 2021, representatives of FC Totem and members of public organizations will visit the Kirovograd educational colony, where they will familiarize themselves with the conditions of detention of juvenile convicts, and on October 30, the young footballers of the club will play a football match with the inmates of the colony.
