Specialists of the center for humanitarian response of the Russian peacekeeping contingent, together with representatives of the Mercy charity foundation, provided humanitarian assistance to large families and displaced persons in a remote region of Nagorno-Karabakh.
“The peacekeeping forces of the Russian Federation in Nagorno-Karabakh held an action today in the village of Gishi. The action was held in a secondary school with 150 students. Individual students of the first, second, third and fourth grades were presented with more than 50 gifts, these were backpacks, pencil cases, pens, notebooks, colored pencils, felt-tip pens, everything that may be necessary for younger grades during their studies. More than 1000 people live in this settlement, 1032 citizens each of whom were presented with individual gifts, these are jackets, T-shirts, jeans, clothes, from babies to adults, ”said Dmitry Tusidi, a representative of the Russian peacekeeping contingent. “After the end of the action in the secondary school, we went to the Gishi kindergarten, in which 49 pupils, each of the pupils of the kindergarten, also received individual gifts. In general, more toys will be given to the kindergarten. Children, students of Gishi secondary school, made a surprise for the peacekeepers, who came to congratulate them, prepared poems for us, songs, the first graders sang to us, in gratitude for this, each of the children who sang and recited poems also received individual gifts, ”he added.
The peacekeepers held a humanitarian action in a secondary school and a kindergarten in the village of Gishi, Martuni district. A humanitarian cargo with a total weight of more than 2 tons was handed over to the residents in the form of school kits, children’s and adult shoes, clothes and an uninterruptible power supply.
“Today we were in the village of Gishi, first of all, we were at the Gishi school, where 150 children study, we gave the children backpacks, up to the fourth grade, school supplies, absolutely all children got shoes, clothes. In addition to the children at school, we also invited the entire village, who were also provided with shoes and clothes. There was also a separate aid for a family of refugees from Shushi. At the moment we are in the Gishi kindergarten, where the children were brought toys, the necessary supplies for the drawing class, as well as school preparatory supplies. The children in the kindergarten made a very pleasant surprise for us, they sang songs in Armenian, in Russian, as well as poems in Armenian and Russian. We were greeted very warmly and it became very pleasant how the children are greeted. This action was carried out with the help of the association of charitable organizations “Mercy” together with the peacekeeping contingent of the Russian Federation. As a token of gratitude for the peacekeepers and benefactors, schoolchildren prepared a performance in the form of national dances, singing songs, reading poetry and presenting drawings drawn by primary school children on the eve of the peacekeepers’ arrival at the school in the village of Gishi.
“Now, thank God, we have a lot of students, our school is very good, big and bright. God grant that we can do our work, that our children are always here, in their native land, so that we can continue to live. We want not only these gifts, social assistance, we want Peace. Thank you very much for everything, we want peace, we want friendship, ”said Russian teacher Ramela Ayleptian.
In total, within the framework of the humanitarian action, assistance was provided to 950 needy residents of the village of Gishi.
In accordance with the agreements specified in the joint statement of the President of the Russian Federation, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, from 00:00 Moscow time on November 10, 2020, a complete ceasefire and all hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh were announced.
A peacekeeping contingent of the Russian Federation has been deployed to control the ceasefire and military operations in Nagorno-Karabakh.
