Colonel Oleg Korotkevich, Acting Deputy Commander of the Combined Arms Formation of the Central Military District for Military-Political Work, today handed over to the head of the city of Biysk Alexander Studenikin the Battle Banner of the 15th Guards Cavalry Mozyr Red Banner Order of the Suvorov Division, for placement in the Biysk Museum of Local Lore named after V.V. Bianchi.

The solemn event was attended by the military commissar of Biysk, Biysk and Solton districts Ruslan Kornikov, chief of the regional headquarters of the Youth Army Yevgeny Ovchinnikov, representatives of public and military-patriotic organizations.

As previously reported, eight banners of the famous regiments and divisions were transferred by the guard of honor of the Moscow garrison to servicemen of the Central Military District for placement in state and municipal museums in Central Russia.

The 15th Guards Cavalry Mozyr Red Banner Order of Suvorov Division took part in the Great Patriotic War as part of the Southwestern, Central, Belorussian, 1st and 2nd Belorussian fronts.

For courage and heroism during the period of hostilities during the Great Patriotic War, about 17,000 soldiers and division commanders were awarded government awards, 25 soldiers received the title of Hero of the Soviet Union.
