At the Tesnitskoye training ground in the Tula region, a tactical exercise is being held with an airborne battalion of the Dmitry Donskoy Guards Airborne Regiment of the Tula Guards Airborne Formation. The exercise is carried out as part of the final check of the Tula compound for 2021.

During the second stage, at the signal of the battalion commander, airborne companies on BMD-2K-AU combat vehicles with a swift attack in the indicated direction captured the advanced positions of the conditional enemy and destroyed elements of his communications center.

In the course of fulfilling the assigned task, the commander of the battalion of the guard, Major Alexei Strizhak, competently and skillfully used the attached and supporting units included in the anti-tank and combined-arms reserve, as well as the mobile barrage detachment. The attached self-propelled artillery battery was widely used to suppress the positions of the artillery of the simulated enemy and destroy its command posts, as well as artillery support of the advancing units, and the attached anti-aircraft units and standard armament of BMD-2K-AU airborne assault vehicles were used to combat air attack weapons. …

Upon completion of the assigned mission, the combined-arms reserve as part of an airborne company with reinforcement equipment moved in the indicated direction and destroyed the enemy’s deploying reserves.

In total, more than 500 servicemen and about 40 units of military and special equipment of the Guards parachute regiment of the Tula Guards Airborne Forces were involved in the exercise.
