The scouts of the Guards Tank Army of the Western Military District are completing an airborne training course at training ranges in the Moscow and Nizhny Novgorod regions.

In total, since the beginning of this year, the military personnel of the reconnaissance units of the ZVO tank association within the framework of airborne training performed more than 3.5 thousand parachute jumps at the training ground.

The scouts performed training jumps from a Mi-8 helicopter on D-6 and D-10 parachutes from altitudes of 600-2000 meters, with weapons and equipment, aimed fire in the air at a conventional enemy, with landing on a strictly limited area of the airfield.

Airborne assault with weapons, including mortars and heavy small arms, as well as additional equipment required to perform special missions, was routinely practiced at the test site. The servicemen made parachute jumps to unfamiliar terrain, made a 10-kilometer march and destroyed a simulated enemy using knife fighting skills.
