Trade turnover between Russia and Uzbekistan in 2021 increased by 6.6%. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk at a working meeting with Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov. During the meeting, the parties discussed topical issues of trade and economic relations,informswebsite of the government of the Russian Federation.

According to Overchuk, the dynamics of cooperation development is positive.

“Today we are witnessing an increase in trade and economic cooperation. For eight months of 2021, trade between Russia and Uzbekistan increased by 6.6% compared to the same period in 2020 and amounted to US $ 3.89 billion,” Alexei Overchuk stressed.

The vice-premiers also discussed the cooperation of the countries in the fields of transport and logistics. In particular, the parties paid special attention to the development and support of the Russia-Uzbekistan logistics corridor project and the implementation of the Agroexpress transport and logistics project.

Recently, presidential elections were held in Uzbekistan.I won a victory on themcurrent president Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
