Earlier, monuments to Marshal Nedelin immortalized his memory in the Odintsovo district of the Moscow region, where the headquarters of the Missile Forces and the Moscow Region Balashikha are located. The decision to erect a monument to the east of Moscow is due to the location here of the main forge of officers for the Strategic Missile Forces – the Military Academy of the Strategic Missile Forces named after Peter the Great.
