Three operations at once to neutralize and eliminate ammunition during the Great Patriotic War on October 30 were carried out by the Sevastopol fireworks of the Russian Emergencies Ministry. They performed tasks both on land and under water – both in Sevastopol and on the territory of the Republic of Crimea.

Thus, the employees of the Specialized Detachment of the Main Directorate of the EMERCOM of Russia for the city of Sevastopol, together with the engineering units of the Black Sea Fleet, carried out work in the Gilzovaya Bay – thereby completing a large-scale complex of measures at this potentially dangerous underwater facility, scheduled for 2021. Let us recall that the survey of the water area of ​​this bay and its cleaning from the formidable finds have been carried out since the end of May. At the first stage, the Sevastopol specialists of the emergency department acted together with representatives of Tsentrospas.

“During the period of work in the Gilzovaya Bay, 2,290 explosive objects were neutralized. Now, at the final stage, 340 munitions have been found and transferred to the engineering units of the Black Sea Fleet, which have been destroyed. In parallel, another diving group of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the city of Sevastopol performed a different front of underwater work – near the coast of the urban-type village of Nikolaevka, Simferopol region of Crimea. The task was to destroy the M-26 sea anchor mine. The mass of such a large ammunition is 900 kilograms, its explosive charge is 254 kilograms, ”said Colonel of the Internal Service Nikolai Tiselsky, head of the Specialized Detachment of the Russian Emergencies Ministry’s Main Directorate for the city of Sevastopol.

The third operation of the day unfolded on land – at the Sevastopol training ground of the Russian Emergencies Ministry. 7 aerial bombs were destroyed there at the same time. The largest among them is the one-hundred-kilogram Soviet FAB-100.

In general, 19 personnel, 6 units of automotive equipment and 1 watercraft were simultaneously involved in three operations from the Special Detachment of the Sevastopol Emergency Department. To monitor the situation from the air, a group of robotic equipment and unmanned aerial systems was involved. Fire safety was provided by fire fighters from the Ministry of Emergency Situations. All events took place as usual. No damage was done to the population and infrastructure.
