In the project “Active Citizen” a new stage of voting has opened, according to the results of which the winners of the “Guiding Star – 2021” award will be determined. This time, residents of Moscow will have to decide who is worthy to receive awards in the nominations “Best Moscow Breakfast”, “Best Restaurant of Russian Cuisine”, “Best Moscow Confectionery” and “Best Moscow Gastromarket”.

Nine restaurants and cafes compete in the Best Moscow Breakfast nomination. Among them is a chain where you can taste unique author’s fruit and vegetable mixes, a restaurant that cooks dishes in an oven, a chamber restaurant with a menu reminiscent of Scandinavia, and a neobistro that combines basic ingredients and old traditional gourmet techniques. Alternatively, you can vote for a place that offers classic Italian cuisine, a restaurant with a Lyon grill, a place with a menu-constructor for creating your own recipe based on fried eggs, scrambled or poached, as well as a restaurant where breakfasts are served all day and a gastronomic cafe in the menu of which there are about 30 European dishes.

The second thematic nomination is “The Best Restaurant of Russian Cuisine”. The list of nominees includes nine establishments with national dishes. You can vote for a restaurant whose menu combines products from different parts of the country, a cafe balancing between traditions and modern trends, a project that is considered the gastronomic embassy of Siberia in Moscow, a restaurant serving Russian noble cuisine, and a restaurant where each guest observes for cooking in the oven through the glass. There are also chances for a restaurant with an emphasis on Russian cuisine with French chic, for a restaurant with author’s dishes, for a home institution styled as an apartment, and for a restaurant with Russian delicacies.

Lovers of sweets will have to determine the best Moscow confectionery. Nine establishments are represented in the nomination of the same name. This is a cafe that sells pasta cakes, a restaurant where you can take with you several varieties of bread with natural sourdough with various additives, a pastry shop and a cafe – a slice of Paris in the very center of Moscow, a pastry shop – an atelier where French desserts are created every day. In addition to them, a confectionery cafe with architectural desserts, a pastry cafe where about 10 types of bread are baked, a confectionery where not only eclairs are baked, but also other desserts, a boutique bakery that combines European traditions and original recipes, and a confectionery are nominated for the award. , whose menu consists exclusively of one product – a croissant with different flavors.

The final question is dedicated to the best gastro-markets in Moscow. There are 10 candidates in this nomination at once.

The “Guiding Star” award is presented to the enterprises of the Moscow tourism and hotel industry. For the sixth year already, the winners of the award have been determined by the participants of the Active Citizen project. This year voting takes place in 18 nominations. You can make your choice until December 3 inclusive. The results will be summed up in mid-December.

Project “Active citizen”appeared in 2014. During this time, more than five million people have joined it, of which almost two million will be in 2020. Participants decide which streets, courtyards and parks need to be improved, how city clinics, libraries, multifunctional centers should work, and also choose events for festivals and celebrations.
