The Ministry of Digital Science has published a draft rules for granting subsidies for the development and implementation of a digital literacy program for the general population.

The subsidy will be provided based on the results of a competitive selection to a legal entity that has experience in implementing projects in the field of digital literacy and cyberhygiene.

“Personal digital literacy is becoming an essential prerequisite for working in an online environment. Sometimes visiting unsafe sites, the inability to recognize frankly fraudulent actions on the network bring serious troubles to the user, including those affecting personal data, which are the main value of a citizen in cyberspace. Within the framework of the Digital Economy national program, several projects are already being implemented on IT education and increasing the level of digital competencies. The new project is aimed at increasing the general level of awareness of citizens directly in matters of personal information security. For the implementation of educational activities in 2022, the state will allocate 200 million rubles, in total, until 2024, 600 million rubles will be allocated for these purposes, ”said Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko.

The winner of the competitive selection will have to develop a plan for the implementation of the program until 2024. As part of the events, a cyber literacy service for civil servants will be launched in 2022. The company will also conduct a comprehensive information campaign aimed at various groups of the population, which will include the creation of educational and entertainment content, promotion in social networks and on socially significant resources.

The total coverage of the program in 2022 will amount to almost 8 million people, including more than 700 thousand civil servants.

The event is being implemented within the framework of the federal project “Information Security” of the national program “Digital Economy”. Learning is expected to help develop sustainable, safe digital behavior among citizens.
