In St. Petersburg, one of the city’s cinemas hosted a pre-premiere screening of the feature film “Sky”, based on the story of the heroic death of the Su-24 pilot Lieutenant Colonel Oleg Peshkov while performing special missions in the skies over Syria.

The event was attended by the command staff of the Leningrad Army of the Air Force and Air Defense of the Western Military District, cadets and cadets of the city’s military educational institutions, servicemen of the military police of the garrison, filmmakers, heads of veteran public organizations and leaders of military-patriotic clubs and museum formations.

The feature film “Sky” directed by Igor Kopylov is based on the story of the death of military pilot Oleg Peshkov and the rescue of navigator Konstantin Murakhtin in 2015 in Syria. Filming took place at the facilities of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, including at the Khmeimim airbase in Syria.
