In 2022-2024, more than 130 schools and kindergartens will be built in Moscow.

The construction of the new building of the Cervantes School No. 1252 is scheduled for completion in 2022. Sergei Sobyanin examined the building under construction.

According to the Mayor of Moscow, the educational buildings of school No. 1252 on Sokol are already outdated and do not meet modern requirements for educational institutions.

“At the request of the school administration, at the request of children and parents, we decided to build a new building for school No. 1252,” he said. – The school is intended for high school students, so I think that all the newest technologies necessary for education will be incorporated here. Sergei Sobyanin instructed the builders to hand over the school ahead of schedule so that it could accept students on September 1.

Construction of the new building of school number 1252 for 400 students began in August 2020. In April 2021, the work was temporarily suspended, since ancient burials were discovered during the development of the soil. After scientific research carried out by specialists from the Institute of Archeology of the Russian Academy of Sciences, construction was resumed. Now specialists are working on the facades of the building and internal engineering networks, finishing the premises and landscaping the adjacent territory.


The construction is financed from the Moscow budget within the framework of the city’s Targeted Investment Program. The total area of ​​the four-storey building is 7.3 thousand square meters. It is being built according to an individual project. Here they will create a comfortable and safe educational environment for teaching schoolchildren from the fifth to the 11th grade.

The new school will have a robotics room, specialized science classrooms with laboratories, as well as universal classes designed for classes in school curriculum subjects and organizing drawing and drawing circles, programming, technical creativity and lego-design, music and singing, chess, home economics, and etc.

For classes in small groups, for example, when studying foreign languages, classrooms can be divided using transformable partitions. Physical education lessons will take place in two well-equipped gyms with changing rooms, showers, toilets and storage rooms.

Also, an assembly hall for 240 spectators, a library and a media center with a photo studio, a radio center and a canteen for 200 seats will be equipped for schoolchildren and teachers. The building will be fully adapted for teaching children with disabilities.

The schoolyard will be equipped with a playground with a safe rubber coating, a recreation area with a playground, paths and benches. Also, flower beds, flower beds and lawns will be planted here, trees and ornamental shrubs will be planted.

Students of the 8-11th grades of school No. 1252, who are now studying in buildings on Dubosekovskaya Street and Volokolamskoye Highway, will be transferred to the new building. This will create a more comfortable learning environment for primary school students.

Cervantes School

School No. 1252 named after Cervantes is an educational complex with in-depth study of the Spanish language. It consists of four buildings, one of which is intended for preschoolers. The school has 1931 children: 338 preschoolers and 1593 schoolchildren. High school students can choose to study in technological, humanitarian and socio-economic profiles.

The school implements urban educational projects “IT class”, “New pedagogical class”, “Entrepreneurial class”, “Academic class”, “Media class”, “Mathematical vertical”, “Effective primary school” and others. On the basis of the educational institution, there are 189 circles and sections of additional education.

The school cooperates with a number of higher educational institutions, including the Higher School of Economics National Research University, the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, the Russian Economic University named after G.V. Plekhanov, Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov, Moscow City Pedagogical University, as well as the Spanish Institute of Cervantes.

Since 2001, together with the Ministry of Education of Spain, the school has been implementing the project “Bilingual sections“ Spanish Baccalaureate ””. Classes are taught by native Spanish teachers. For eight years – from the fourth to the 11th grade – the children have been studying according to a specially developed program, the successful completion of which gives the right to enter Russian and European (Spanish-speaking) higher educational institutions.

In the 2020/2021 academic year, school No. 1252 graduated 74 eleventh graders. 23 of them were awarded medals of the Moscow Government “For special success in education”. Also, in the last academic year, 28 students became winners and prize-winners of the final stage of the All-Russian Olympiad for schoolchildren, and over 80 people became prize-winners and winners of the Moscow Olympiad for schoolchildren.

More than 450 new schools and kindergartens

Since 2011, 453 educational buildings have been built in Moscow, including 324 kindergartens and 129 schools. Of the total number of new kindergartens and schools, 272 objects were built at the expense of the city budget, 181 at the expense of investors.

Plans for 2022–2024 include the construction of 137 new school and kindergarten buildings, of which 81 are funded by the city budget. Another 56 new schools are planned to be built at the expense of investors.

SAO Prefect Gadzhimurad Izutdinov added that in 2022, 23 school territories are planned to be improved in the Northern District. Four of them are located in the Sokol area.
