Professor Stanislav Prokofiev became the new rector of the Financial University. He will lead one of the leading Russian universities for the next five years. The order on his appointment was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
Stanislav Prokofiev was born in Saratov. Graduated from the Saratov Institute of Economics in 1989. In subsequent years, he worked in senior positions in the government of the Saratov region, including the post of deputy minister of economy and investment policy, deputy head of the Central Bank’s main department for the Saratov region, and headed the department of the federal treasury of the Ministry of Finance for the Saratov and Moscow regions. In 2005 he was appointed Deputy Head of the Federal Treasury.
In parallel with his administrative activities, Stanislav Prokofiev was actively involved in science. He is a Doctor of Economics, professor, author of over 150 scientific papers, including textbooks for university students in the field of finance and public administration.
The former rector of the Financial University, Mukhadin Eskindarov, left his post in connection with reaching the age limit for filling the position of the head of a state university. A well-known Russian economist, professor and academician has led the university for the last 15 years and made an invaluable contribution to the development of one of the oldest Russian universities. In particular, the university received the right to develop its own educational standards, which indicates the high quality of training of graduates and the level of education.
He was also included in the list of the first 19 educational and 5 scientific organizations in Russia that received the right to create their own dissertation councils and award their own academic degrees of doctor and candidate of sciences.
