The ferry crossing, deployed by military engineers of the Eastern Military District (VVO), on the Bolshaya Ussurka River in the Primorsky Territory, has completed its work.

During the operation of the river crossing, the servicemen of the engineering unit transported about 13 thousand residents of Primorye, and the total number of vehicles reached 10 thousand units.

In late spring 2021, due to ice drift, the supports of the superstructures of the wooden bridge over the Bolshaya Ussurka River collapsed. As a result, the movement stopped on it. Residents of three settlements in Primorye had to make a detour over 180 kilometers in order to get to the opposite bank. Therefore, the work of the pontoon ferry greatly facilitated the life of local residents.

Recall that in May, at the request of the Government of the Primorsky Territory and the order of the commander of the Eastern Military District, servicemen of the engineering units of the combined arms army of the Air Defense Forces set up a temporary crossing over the Bolshaya Ussurka River. It functioned for over five months, stopping only once for a short time due to a decrease in the water level in the river.
