The transport card in honor of the creation of pilot sites of a new type for dogs in the capital was released in a limited edition of 10 thousand copies. It can be purchased from November 16 at the ticket offices of the Moscow Metro’s Circle Line and at stations inside it.
The main character of the map is a dog named Busya, a ward of the Yuna animal rehabilitation center and a participant in the Tails and Paws project to find owners for homeless animals. His profile is posted on online platform project. The photo of the dog was taken in the first dog park in Severny Medvedkovo.
In September 2021, four new type of dog grounds were opened in the Mozhaisky, Yasenevo, Losinoostrovsky and Severnoye Medvedkovo districts. The pilot project “Pets in Moscow” is being implemented as part of the program “My region”…
The concept of new sites was developed by specialists and local residents. This allowed us to think over the infrastructure for animals as much as possible and take into account the opinions of both dog owners and residents who do not have them. We studied the world’s best practices for creating playgrounds and parks for dogs, and also conducted a study of the situation with such sites in Moscow. Experts from the Russian Cynological Federation and the Union of Cynological Organizations of Russia were involved in the development of the concept.
As a result, a draft standard for sites of a new type was developed. So, it provides for the zoning of each site, which allows you to organize the leisure of dogs with different temperaments. The site has a special entrance-vestibule with double gates to prevent accidental exit of the animal from the fenced-in area. There is also a durable turf and at least one rest area for dog owners.
The playground in Severny Medvedkovo, which is depicted on the new Troika map, is the first pet park in the capital. Its area is 2.92 thousand square meters. It was built within the boundaries of the old site, which was used by dog handlers to prepare dogs for international competitions. When designing, the territory was divided into separate functional zones to make it convenient for both professionals and amateurs. Now there is a training area equipped with the appropriate equipment and a large walking area with separate entrances, recreation areas for animal owners, a trainer room, dog boxes and even a warehouse for dog equipment.
The construction of four new dog walking areas is the first phase of a long-term plan to modernize and create urban infrastructure for animals and their owners according to a single standard.
The My District program has been operating in the capital since 2018. Its main goal is to provide comfortable conditions for all Muscovites, regardless of their place of residence. As part of the program, streets, district parks, boulevards and squares, as well as areas near water bodies, are being landscaped.
