On November 15-17, 2021, in Bodø, Norway, the main planning conference on the preparation of the International Exercise of Rescue Services of Russia, Norway, Finland and Sweden “Barents Rescue – 2022” is being held.

Representatives of the EMERCOM of Russia in the event are attended by representatives of the central office, the Main Directorate for the Murmansk Region and the St. Petersburg University of the State Fire Service.

During the conference, employees of the emergency departments of the member states of the Barents Euro-Arctic Council (BEAC) will discuss the plan and approve the scenario of the upcoming exercise, on the basis of which a final decision on the forces and means involved will be made.

It is expected that the exercise “Barents Rescue – 2022”, scheduled for September next year, will consist of two phases. During the first stage, the issues of operational information exchange will be worked out along the line of duty shifts of control centers in crisis situations, during the second – the rescue units of Norway, Russia, Finland and Sweden in the vicinity of Bodø will work out various injections in the format of an international search and rescue operation …

Recall that the exercises of the Barents Rescue series are held every three years with the participation of the forces and means of the emergency departments of Russia, Norway, Finland and Sweden, located in the Barents region, in accordance with Article 2 of the Agreement between the governments of the BEAC member states on cooperation in the field of prevention. preparedness and response to emergencies from 11.12.2008. For the practical implementation of this agreement, a Joint Committee has been established and operates.
