On the basis of the Leader Center of the EMERCOM of Russia, tests of the MRK-15 robotic complex were completed, which were carried out for two months. The heads of the structural divisions of the EMERCOM of Russia, as well as scientific and educational organizations of the department, took part in the assessment of the functionality.

This robot is designed to perform visual reconnaissance of the terrain, industrial and residential premises, transport facilities at any time of the day under any degree of illumination. When installing additional equipment, it will be able to perform work on the search, detection and destruction of explosive objects, moving loads weighing up to 20 kg, as well as performing high-precision technological operations.

The approbation was carried out in accordance with a special program – a methodology for conducting trial operation of a robotic complex, which provided for verification by 32 parameters. The robot, under the control of a specialist and in an autonomous mode, performed tasks, including overcoming various kinds of obstacles, searching and moving objects, changing modular elements to perform emergency rescue operations.

Also, a check was carried out for the control range of the robot through communication channels in line of sight and in urban areas, the duration of operation on one battery charge and other capabilities specified by the manufacturer. During the tests, the robot was also tested under a load exceeding the declared capabilities.

As a result, the specialists of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia made a number of proposals to increase the functionality of the robot, including to increase the autonomy and solve the tasks of the RChBZ.

EMERCOM of Russia continues to work on testing the latest models of equipment to assess the possibilities of its use and acceptance for supply.
