With the cadets of the 3rd year of the branch, a practical lesson “Primary measures to fight fire, the fight for unsinkability” was conducted, during which the actions of personnel of surface ships and vessels were practiced in the event of emergency situations.

Similar trainings are conducted with cadets of the 3rd, 4th and 5th courses on an ongoing basis. Classes allow to automatism work out the actions of the crew in the event of emergency and emergency situations, as well as develop psychological stability in future officers when fighting open fire and the flow of seawater.

UTK “Gefest” allows at two workplaces to work out practical actions to combat the ingress of water in different compartments, to simulate emergencies that arise when a ship simultaneously receives up to 10 holes. Also, at the UTK, four workplaces were organized for fire fighting training in small living quarters, an electrical switchboard, on the upper deck and when igniting fuels and lubricants. The complex has a smoke labyrinth with a variable configuration of bulkheads and a foam compartment to form psychological stability and coordinate the actions of personnel in emergency situations.

The operation of the complex is fully automated and allows you to work out introductory emergency parties of up to 10 people at each workplace, including with sound accompaniment of the situation, video monitoring and video recording of the actions of the trainees. Future officers and warrant officers of the fleet, as well as the crews of surface ships and ships of the Baltic Fleet will learn to pass through a room filled with foam, practice actions to stop fuel supply and extinguish fires, as well as gain practical skills in fighting water on simulators of ship hull holes and in case of damage to pipelines.
