Working trip of Yuri Trutnev to Primorsky Krai

In Vladivostok, Deputy Prime Minister – Plenipotentiary of the President in the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev introduced the acting rector of the university to the faculty of the FEFU, presented government awards to the Primorye residents – liquidators of freezing rain, held a meeting on preventing the spread of coronavirus infection in the Far East.

The Far Eastern Federal University is headed by Boris Korobets, who previously held the post of First Vice-Rector – Vice-Rector for Research and Strategic Development of the Bauman Moscow State Technical University. The corresponding order on the appointment of the acting rector of FEFU was signed by the Minister of Science and Higher Education Valery Falkov.

“Following the results of the Eastern Economic Forum, the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin instructed the Government to ensure that the Far Eastern Federal University achieves the world level. Let me remind you that the university itself was created on the direct instructions of the head of state. The development of the Far East has been declared a national priority by the President of Russia. To date, more than 2.6 thousand new investment projects are being implemented in the district, 82 thousand jobs have been created. In order for the Far East to develop faster, it is necessary to improve the quality of education, to make the Far Eastern Federal University a world scientific center, ”said Yuri Trutnev.

The Deputy Prime Minister thanked the former rector of the Far Eastern Federal University Nikita Anisimov for the work. “Under the leadership of Nikita Yuryevich, with the participation of the teaching staff, the university has significantly increased its level. For the second time in 2021, it entered the top 500 of the best universities in the world, taking 461st place, the overall position of the university increased by more than 160 points, ”he said. Yuri Trutnev wished the new head of the university to keep the pace of work and increase the achievements of his predecessors.

The Deputy Prime Minister presented certificates of honor and gratitude from the Government of the Russian Federation to 12 Primorye residents who eliminated the consequences of freezing rain in 2020. As a result of the anomalous cyclone that took place in the Primorsky Territory in November last year, almost 181 thousand people were left without power supply, over 48 thousand people without heat, and over 71 thousand people without water supply. In total, 120 teams of power engineers were involved in the restoration work, 9 teams from other Russian regions were involved, 31 backup power supplies with a total capacity of 1.5 MW were delivered. Work on clearing, cleaning of roads and inter-quarter passages continued around the clock. These works involved 306 people, 204 pieces of equipment.

“We all remember what happened a year ago: broken trees, broken power lines, more than 180 thousand people without power supply. We remember how the work to eliminate the emergency was carried out practically around the clock. I would like to thank those who took part in this work, ”said Yuri Trutnev.

On the same day, the Deputy Prime Minister held a meeting on preventing the spread of coronavirus infection in the Far Eastern Federal District. The meeting participants discussed the issue of providing vaccines to the regions of the Far East and the vaccination of citizens, the activities of medical institutions and the work of their medical personnel.

Yuri Trutnev drew the attention of the heads of regions to the lack of vaccination rates in a number of regions. “No more than 2.67 million people completed the full course of vaccination, or 53% of the plan. The worst vaccination rates are in the Khabarovsk Territory, the Jewish Autonomous Region and Primorye, “he said.

Special attention, according to Yuri Trutnev, should be paid to informing people, especially the group of citizens aged 65 and over, in which the highest mortality rate from coronavirus is recorded. “The main tasks to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection are related to the vaccination of the population. It is necessary to vaccinate at least 80% of the adult population of the Far East, ”stressed Yuri Trutnev.
