The All-Russian Forum “Student Tourism-2022” has started in Moscow at the site of the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia. Its main theme is the development of proposals for the student tourism program for the next year.

Dmitry Chernyshenko: About 150 universities plan to take part in the student tourism program in 2022

As Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko noted, the pilot stage of the student tourism program was implemented by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education from July 15 to August 25, 2021. To participate in it, students submitted applications on the website studentturizm.rf, choosing the region they liked and the university where they would like to stay.

The program provided for two travel options: a group format, when the sending university paid for the trip, and an independent one – at the student’s own funds.

Based on the results of the pilot project, it was decided to extend and scale the program for 2022.

“Making travel within the country accessible to students is an important task set before us by President Vladimir Putin. This summer, thanks to the pilot, about 600 students were able to relax in other regions of Russia at affordable prices. 21 universities participated in the program, 170 excursions, events and various cultural and educational tourism programs were developed for the children. Now we are working on creating a program for the next year. It is planned to introduce educational components into the tour routes. In total, about 150 universities are planning to take part in the student tourism program in 2022, ”noted Dmitry Chernyshenko.

He added that the Government, on behalf of the President, is also creating a network of world-class campuses, allocating funding for major repairs and reconstruction of hostels and campuses.

“Thanks to this, we not only increase the comfort of learning and encourage students to study science, but also create even more accommodation options for student tourists. I hope that on this forum, the guys will form a list of their specific proposals and wishes for improving the travel program, and will offer additional and more interesting tourist routes. We will definitely take this into account when developing the final version of the program, ”added the Deputy Prime Minister.

Forum “Student Tourism-2022” takes place from 17 to 20 November. Over 100 students from 30 Russian universities took part in it. For them, it is planned to conduct lectures and master classes, as well as outdoor events.

The forum program includes three tracks: “Development”, where they will consider the creation of tourism products and services at universities, “Management”, within which a system of hospitality and management of tourism projects of universities will be designed, and “Media”, where experts will discuss the methodology for creating creative campaigns in student media and information support for tourism projects.
