In the guards training center for training junior specialists of the Western Military District (ZVO) in the Leningrad Region, more than 1,000 gunners-operators of T-72 tanks, as part of the final examinations, perform control firing exercises with live projectiles at emerging and moving targets.

All T-72B3 tanks were treated with a disinfectant solution to pass exams for controlling military equipment.

More than 1 thousand tankers in the daytime and at night shoot at targets imitating enemy manpower and armored vehicles located at a distance of 500 to 1800 m. The order of appearance of targets is divided into three options, which are unknown to the crews before the start of the exercise.

The cadets of the training center for three minutes fire at targets with an average tank speed of about five kilometers per hour from 125-mm tank guns and 7.62 mm PKT machine guns.

The military personnel of the district training center take exams after four months of training. Successful passing of the exam will allow them to continue serving in the tank divisions of the Western Military District.
