Russian military traffic inspectors in Tajikistan ensured safe escort of military convoys to participate in a joint exercise of special forces, internal affairs agencies, state security agencies, ministries and departments for emergency situations and drug control of the Collective Rapid Response Force (CRRF) of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Cobalt 2021.

Servicemen on armored personnel carriers BTR-80 and armored vehicles “Tiger” made a 45-kilometer march from Dushanbe and the Lyaur training ground to the Fakhrabad training ground. On the route of movement, military traffic inspectors worked out the issues of organizing road safety and the implementation of a set of measures to monitor the operation of vehicles.

In the course of practical actions, Russian military personnel, together with colleagues from Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, will work out the planning and conduct of an operation to destroy militants, acting as part of the special forces of the CSTO CRRF.

The Russian military contingent in the exercise is represented by servicemen of the special forces unit of the Central Military District and the reconnaissance battalion of the 201st military base. In total, about 60 servicemen and 10 units of military equipment will be involved from the Russian side, including two Mi-8MTV5-1 helicopters of the air group of the 201st military base.

The exercise will take place from 17 to 19 November at the Fakhrabad training ground in the Republic of Tajikistan.
