On November 16, the Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for the Middle East and African Countries, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation M.L. Bogdanov, who was on a working trip to Maputo, was received by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Mozambique A.du Rosario, and also had meetings with the Minister of Foreign Affairs. During the conversations, a wide range of issues of the progressive development of the entire range of traditionally friendly Russian-Mozambican relations was thoroughly discussed, with an emphasis on building up mutually beneficial partnerships in the trade, economic and investment spheres, as well as in the field of subsoil use and energy, exploration and production of hydrocarbons.

Particular attention was paid to the preparation of the second Russia-Africa summit scheduled for autumn 2022, the participation of Mozambique in this forum and related events.

During the exchange of views on topical international problems, the sides noted the mutual disposition of Moscow and Maputo to further strengthen coordination in the UN and other multilateral formats. In the context of the African agenda, the importance of consolidating efforts to counter the terrorist threat on the continent, including its manifestations in northern Mozambique, was noted.
