As part of the implementation of the projects of the Russian Geographical Society, specialists from the regional center for psychological work of the Northern Fleet visited an exhibition dedicated to the complex expedition of the Northern Fleet and the Russian Geographical Society to study the islands of the Arctic archipelagoes, located in the museum and exhibition complex of the Northern Fleet’s Search and Rescue Department. During a sightseeing tour, a member of the expedition, senior specialist of the Northern Fleet’s rescue squad, Captain 2nd Rank Denis Krets, spoke about the exploration of the islands of the Arctic archipelago.

During the excursion, psychologists were able to get acquainted with unique artifacts reflecting the history of the development of the Arctic, the results of scientific research, innovative ideas in the field of natural and historical and cultural heritage. During the excursion, stories about the details of the expeditionary campaign, the specifics of the tasks performed, the facts of the influence of negative climatic and geographical conditions on the human body aroused particular interest. It is these issues that are at the center of attention of military psychologists when training and accompanying personnel on expeditions.

During the year, military psychologists of the Northern Fleet carried out psychological support measures with more than 1,500 servicemen who took part in the expeditionary activities. The most significant and large-scale of them were the complex Arctic expedition “Umka-2021” and the complex expedition to search and survey the warships and submarines that died during the Great Patriotic War “Remember the War”.
