Attack aviation crews of the 4th Army of the Air Force and Air Defense of the Southern Military District (YuVO) in the Stavropol Territory made more than 2,500 training flights in 2021, completing the flight training program for the academic year.

During the training period, servicemen spent over 2,000 hours in the skies on modern modernized Su-25 and Su-25SM ground attack aircraft, which is 15 percent more than last year.

In the course of combat training, the crews practiced the tasks of providing cover for the State Border, improved their air maneuvering skills, made flights to the maximum range, at different altitudes and under various weather conditions, both during the day and at night, with four flight shifts weekly.

In training air battles, the military personnel of the Southern Military District perfected the technique of complex and aerobatics, performing a horizontal controlled and corkscrew “barrel”, rotation, Nesterov’s loop and other elements. The main emphasis in the performance of aerobatic elements was made on the ability to apply them in real air combat.

In addition, the crews of the ground attack aircraft performed combat training missions in the course of joint actions with army aviation units and within the framework of tactical flight exercises.
