The EMERCOM of Russia summed up the results of the competition for the title “The best head of the information department of the EMERCOM of Russia.” During the current year, the competition committee of the Information Policy Department assessed the performance indicators of candidates and the efficiency of their divisions. The competition consisted of two stages. In the first stage, the eight best press services were determined based on the results of the calendar year. We took into account such indicators as the promptness of informing the population about emergencies and incidents through the media, preparation and posting on the official website and in social networks of news about the activities of the territorial body of the EMERCOM of Russia, as well as interaction with departmental media. The best were the press services of the Main Directorates of the EMERCOM of Russia in the Kaliningrad region, the Republic of Bashkortostan, the Krasnodar Territory, the Novosibirsk Region, the Jewish Autonomous Region, the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, the Sverdlovsk Region and the city of Moscow.
In the second stage, the professionalism and personal qualities of the heads of information departments were taken into account.
According to the results of the competition, the winner was Alexey Baranov, head of the press service of the Main Directorate of EMERCOM of Russia in the Kaliningrad Region.
For thirteen years under his supervision, a small but very creative team has been working, successfully coping with a large number of tasks related to informing the population, preventive work, and increasing the prestige of the Ministry. The main merit of the leader is the ability to communicate with people, find a common language with journalists, colleagues, leaders, representatives of other structures and departments and understanding what may be interesting and important to the general public at the moment.
Every year, the press service promptly covers the elimination of fires, emergencies, search and rescue operations in the region. At any time of the day, employees are ready to leave with a video camera and a photo camera to any point in the region and begin work on collecting information and informing the population about the progress of the emergency response.
As the most ambitious event covered this year – work on the demining of a German cargo barge that sank with an arsenal of ammunition in the Baltic Sea during the Great Patriotic War. The merit of the head of the information department of the regional head office is the ability to emphasize the scale and for a long time to keep the active interest of the media community in this topic.
Journalists have the opportunity to directly record the work on lifting the shells, while the interaction is always organized at the highest level. Journalists from federal media actively participate in this work: VTGRK Rossii, Zvezda, Channel One, Russian Public Television, Interfax, ITAR-TASS, RIA Novosti and others.
In the westernmost region of Russia, a pool of journalists from regional and federal media has been created, systematic and painstaking work is underway to prevent negative information about the emergency department in the media.
The secret of Alexei Baranov’s success is that the quality of the work performed, the pursuit of excellence, a balanced approach to any information and trust in his subordinates are in the first place for him.
According to the results of the competition for the title “The best head of the information department of the EMERCOM of Russia”, the second place was taken by the head of the press service of the Main Directorate of the EMERCOM of Russia in the Republic of Bashkortostan Alik Sharafutdinov, the third place was taken by the head of the press service of the Main Directorate of the EMERCOM of Russia in the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic Kantemir Berov.
