Large-scale exercises to eliminate the consequences of road accidents on federal highways were held in Sevastopol. According to the plan of the exercises, in the operational duty shift of the control center in crisis situations of the Main Directorate of the EMERCOM of Russia in the city of Sevastopol, a message was received that as a result of the passage of a complex of unfavorable meteorological phenomena (strong fog and wind, ice) on the A-291 highway in the area of ​​269- On the first kilometer, there was a major accident of a fuel tanker carrying 11 tons of gasoline, a passenger bus and 6 cars. As a result of the collision of vehicles and the fuel spill, the fuel and lubricants ignited. 38 people were injured, including 5 children. In serious condition – 4 people, no children among them. 6 people were killed. A traffic jam of 2 kilometers was formed, there were 247 cars in which there were 328 people.

To eliminate the conditional emergency, the forces of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia, the Center for Ensuring Civil Protection Measures of Sevastopol, Sevavtodor, the police, ambulance and other emergency services were involved.

Upon arrival, rescuers immediately took steps to rescue the victims. 6 people were promptly unblocked from vehicles.

The fire fighters were also awaited by additional introductions during the exercises themselves: the vehicles ignited, there was a threat of an explosion. A foam attack was launched using the Purga-5 and GPS-600 barrels.

To shelter and heat people who were conditionally trapped in a traffic jam, the Russian Emergencies Ministry deployed a mobile heating and food point for citizens, where they could get hot meals and rest. For psychological support, employees of the Crimean branch of the Center for Emergency Psychological Aid of the EMERCOM of Russia were involved.

At the same time, on the basis of the Main Directorate of the EMERCOM of Russia in the city of Sevastopol, an operational headquarters was deployed, coordinating the activities of the forces and means of the Sevastopol territorial subsystem of the RSChS.

As a result of the exercise, the goals set for the rescuers were achieved. They demonstrated high professionalism and were able to test the rescue equipment in action.

A total of 233 people and 44 pieces of equipment worked on the spot – including 103 personnel and 25 pieces of equipment and 2 unmanned aerial vehicles from the EMERCOM of Russia.
