The personnel of the artillery units of the Pskov Guards Airborne Assault Formation are honing their professional skills at the new Arterra virtual artillery range, which has recently joined the formation.

The Arterra computer artillery range allows for virtual lessons and training in shooting and control of all types of fire, realizing any method of firing various types of ammunition in real time.

At the virtual training range, the degree of target destruction is taken into account and an assessment is made of the effectiveness of the assigned combat mission. The polygon allows you to simulate fire day and night on all types of terrain, in any weather, as well as to recreate any terrain using the data of electronic topographic maps.

Arterra is a complex of software and hardware, including automated workstations for the head of the lesson and the trainees. Using special software, it completely simulates all elements of shooting preparation and fire control.

The virtual training ground allows training in artillery specialties without going to field training grounds, thereby significantly saving the service life of military equipment and fuels and lubricants, and at the same time not reducing the quality of training of specialists.

The gunners of the airborne assault formation worked out the practical skills of artillery crews at command observation posts and firing positions, as well as conducting fire correction from 122-mm howitzers D-30, 1
