In the Saratov region, in the city of Engels, the premiere screening of the film “Sky” was held, based on the story of the heroic death of the Su-24 pilot Lieutenant Colonel Oleg Peshkov while performing special missions in the skies over Syria.

The event was attended by the command and personnel of the Engels formation of long-range aviation, heads of veteran public organizations, as well as students from sponsored schools of the garrison.

“The film“ Sky ”was able to show the courage and dedication of Russian military pilots. This picture is perhaps the only one at the moment, which tells in detail about the events in Syria on such a scale, “said Colonel Ruslan Akhmetzhanov, deputy commander of the Engels long-range aviation unit for military-political work of the Guard, in his address.

The feature film “Sky” directed by Igor Kopylov is based on the story of the death of a military pilot Oleg Peshkov and the rescue of navigator Konstantin Murakhtin in 2015 in Syria. Filming took place at the facilities of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, including at the Khmeimim airbase in Syria.
