Cadets and officers of the Tyumen Higher Military Engineering Command School (TVVIKU) named after Marshal of Engineering Troops A.I. Proshlyakov congratulated the veteran of the Great Patriotic War Mikhail Andreyevich Nikishin on his centenary.

As part of the festive event, a military brass band sang the song “Victory Day”, and the cadets and officers marched in a solemn march. After that, the front-line soldier was presented with gifts from the leadership of the school and the governor of the region, and a congratulatory telegram from Russian President Vladimir Putin was also handed over.

Mikhail Andreevich Nikishin – a native of the village. Peschanka of the Rtishchevsky district of the Saratov region. Was drafted into the army in April 1941, took the first battle at Nevel on July 7. In 1943 he graduated from the Kazan Tank School with the rank of lieutenant. He fought on the North-Western Front in a motorized rifle regiment, on the 2nd Ukrainian Front in a tank formation. Until September 1945 he took part in hostilities on the Trans-Baikal Front. In 1946 he graduated from the Higher Officers’ School of Self-Propelled Artillery, and in 1953 – from the Military Pedagogical Institute. He served in Novosibirsk and Omsk. In the Tyumen Military Engineering School he served from 1960 to 1972 as a senior teacher. He was awarded the Order of the Red Star, the Order of the Patriotic War II degree, the Zhukov medal, the medals “For Military Merit”, “For Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945”, “For Victory over Japan.” After completing his service from February 1972 to June 1997 he worked in the department of public education of the Tyumen region. Awarded with the badge “Excellence in Public Education”.
