Yuri Borisov held a meeting in Cherepovets on the prospects for the development of the mineral fertilizers industry

Yuri Borisov held a visiting meeting in Cherepovets on the prospects for the development of the mineral fertilizers industry. The event was attended by the heads of the Russian Association of Fertilizer Producers (RAPU) and key industry enterprises.

“The mineral fertilizers industry has invested over 1.3 trillion rubles in development over the past seven years, increasing production by 40% and coming out on this indicator to the second place in the world. Such high growth rates are necessary to reliably meet the growing needs of Russian farmers, who have practically doubled their consumption of fertilizers in recent years and will double their purchase by 2025, ”Yuri Borisov said during the meeting. According to him, for Russian producers of mineral fertilizers, the domestic market should remain an unconditional priority in order to meet the needs of Russian farmers by 100%.

The Deputy Prime Minister added that in light of the goal set by the President of Russia to double the non-resource non-energy exports of the domestic mineral fertilizer industry, it is also important to maintain positions in world markets. Today Russia has become one of the world’s leading suppliers of mineral fertilizers, the products of Russian companies are in demand in more than 130 countries and are conquering new markets.

In this regard, the enterprises of the industry have developed plans for the implementation of investment programs for the next seven years, the total volume of which reaches 2 trillion rubles.

As the head of RAPU, CEO of PhosAgro PJSC Andrey Guryev noted in his report to the Deputy Prime Minister, the investment boom that continues in the industry became possible thanks to the investment stimulation instruments created by the Government – the SPIC mechanisms, KPPK and the new investment institute SZPK.

“All new projects are implemented using the best available technologies, based on the advanced developments of domestic and foreign design institutes, which meet the stringent requirements of environmental legislation and reduce the unit costs of raw materials and energy resources. As a result, by 2026, the production capacity of industrial enterprises will practically double compared to 2013, when a large-scale investment cycle began in the industry, ”said Andrey Guryev.

During his visit to Cherepovets, Yuri Borisov also took part in the ceremonial commissioning of a new unit for the production of sulfuric acid with a capacity of 3.3 thousand tons per day (SK-3300) and the reconstructed railway station Cryolite, aimed at increasing the production of mineral fertilizers and their supply to the end consumer. …

These projects are the final stage of a large-scale strategic program to modernize production at the PhosAgro Cherepovets chemical complex. As part of the investment program with a volume of more than 120 billion rubles (the total investment of PhosAgro in the last seven years alone amounted to 240 billion rubles), high-tech production of ammonia with a capacity of 760 thousand tons per year and granulated urea with a capacity of 500 thousand tons were previously commissioned. the volume of fertilizer production by the enterprise, tax deductions increased, more than 650 highly qualified jobs were created.

As noted by Yuri Borisov, the construction of the SK-3300 has become the point of application of the efforts of the best scientific, design and contracting organizations in the country.

“Today we have witnessed the launch of a modern technological complex. It is one of the largest in the country. A model for applying the best available technology. One of the most effective and safest. The new installation will increase the volume and expand the range of fertilizers produced. This will benefit the entire Russian agroindustry along the entire chain – “from ore to food”. The food security of our country will be strengthened. The Russian mineral fertilizer industry will be able to strengthen its competitive position in the world market – with products that are distinguished by the absence of concentrations of cadmium and other heavy metals hazardous to human and soil health, and a high content of nutrients. This is a significant event for the industry and a landmark event in our industry, ”he said.

Yuri Borisov also visited the Cherepovets Metallurgical Plant, where he was shown the control panel of the aggregator, the foundry and the metal coating workshop. The Deputy Prime Minister praised the development of Severstal’s production site in Cherepovets. He discussed with the management of the enterprise the development of the metallurgical complex, taking into account the investment and environmental agenda.
