As noted by the head of PJSC RusHydro, Viktor Khmarin, work has begun on the construction of the second stage of the Yakutskaya GRES-2, and a large-scale program is being implemented to modernize and expand the Neryungrinskaya GRES. PJSC RusHydro is carrying out large-scale work to modernize local energy facilities using renewable energy technologies. In the coming years, modern hybrid energy complexes will appear in more than 70 remote energy-isolated settlements of the republic.
During the meeting, it was considered expedient to ensure the development of a mechanism for covering economically justified costs of Yakutskenergo. Balanced tariff solutions will facilitate the implementation of the necessary repairs at the Yakutskenergo power grid facilities and the implementation of new investment projects, which will have a positive effect on the reliability of energy supply to consumers in the region.
They discussed the situation in the Western energy region of the republic. Due to the extreme low water on the Vilyui River (the second most low water year for the entire observation period), the reserves of hydro resources in the Vilyui reservoir are 71% of the norm. Proposals were made to improve the energy system related to reducing the water content of the energy-producing basins.
Following the meeting, Yuri Trutnev gave a number of instructions. SO UES JSC, RusHydro PJSC, the Government of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) were instructed to ensure control of the situation in the power system of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) and the implementation of the necessary measures aimed at ensuring reliable heat and power supply to consumers.
The Government of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) should, within the framework of the scheme for the future development of the region, submit proposals for ensuring reliable energy supply to the Western region of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), including the study of the possibility of using renewable energy sources.
The Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East, the Ministry of Energy, the Government of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) were instructed to submit proposals to stimulate the consumption of electricity by consumers in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), taking into account the promising development of the region.

“The development of high technologies is a separate, very important task for the development of our entire country. Yakutia is the leader in this segment in the Far Eastern Federal District. More than 3.5 thousand people work in the high-tech sector in Yakutia. Three years ago, this figure was 1.5 thousand people. The task set by the authorities of the republic is to reach 10 thousand people by 2024, ”said Yuri Trutnev.
At the end of 2020, Yakutia became the leader in the export of IT services in the Far East, and is also included in the top 11 best regions of Russia in this indicator. By 2024, the region plans to double the number of companies engaged in technological innovation; the annual volume of attracting investments in the IT and innovation sector should be at least 1 billion rubles. A new data center is being established. There are ten regional IT centers. Four more will be open by the end of the year. And by 2024, 17 more will appear. It is planned to open five laboratories for end-to-end technologies, such as artificial intelligence and virtual and augmented reality.
