The regions of the Far Eastern Federal District will receive federal funding to compensate for damage to agricultural producers who suffered losses due to fires and floods in the summer of 2021. The order on the allocation of almost 1.4 billion rubles for this was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

Of the total amount, more than 1 billion rubles will go to the Amur Region. It was there that the greatest damage was noted to crops, livestock, infrastructure and property. The rest of the money will be directed to Yakutia, the Jewish Autonomous Region, the Trans-Baikal and Khabarovsk Territories.

Federal funding will allow to support over 200 organizations of the agro-industrial complex and more than 3 thousand local residents with personal subsidiary plots. At the expense of these funds, farmers will be able to pay off lease payments and interest on preferential short-term and investment loans.

“It is important that every ruble is used efficiently and strictly for its intended purpose. I ask the Ministry of Agriculture to take control of this issue, “said Mikhail Mishustin at a meeting of the Government on November 17.

The government has already provided assistance to the Far Eastern regions affected by natural disasters in 2021. In particular, more than 5 billion rubles were allocated to support citizens who have lost their homes and property. Also, federal funding was allocated for emergency and recovery work to eliminate the consequences caused by floods and fires.

The document will be published.
