The crews of the Buk anti-aircraft missile systems of the air defense unit of the combined-arms army of the Eastern Military District (VVO) in the Trans-Baikal Territory were involved in training to repel an attack by a mock enemy’s air attack, as well as to ensure safe flights of their aircraft.

The anti-aircraft gunners practiced issues related to the occupation and camouflage of positions, the organization of a communication and control system, and the transfer of equipment from a traveling position to a combat position. Also, the servicemen performed a number of introductory notes on reconnaissance, detection, tracking and destruction of the targets of a simulated enemy.

To complicate the solution of the assigned tasks, the flight of both group and single targets moving at different heights and speeds was simulated.

The crews of self-propelled launchers, as well as detection and target designation stations performed the recognition and tracking of targets imitating the aircraft of a simulated enemy.

More than 200 servicemen took part in the training events, about 50 units of weapons, military and special equipment were involved.
