Dmitry Chernyshenko took part in the strategic session “Image of the future campus. Team building “

The strategy session was attended by Minister of Science and Higher Education Valery Falkov, Minister for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic Alexei Chekunkov, representatives of the Ministry of Construction and Housing and Utilities, the Ministry of Finance and VEB.RF, as well as heads of regions where world-class campuses will be created.

“President Vladimir Putin has set a strategic task for the Government to create modern world-class campuses in the regions by 2030. They should become development drivers, stimulating the retention and inflow of promising students and scientists, as well as providing the most modern conditions for the development of university technology entrepreneurship. The fulfillment of the task is under the personal control of the Chairman of the Government Mikhail Mishustin. In August this year, out of 27 projects, the first 14 were selected, of which 3 are already being implemented. Regions and universities regularly come to us with new proposals, so we do not stop there. In February 2022, the second selection of applications for the creation of world-class campuses will start. Now it is important, using the analysis of the best experience and world practices of campus exploitation, to regularly conduct strategy sessions with the constituent entities of Russia, where they are planned to be created, ”noted Dmitry Chernyshenko.

The Deputy Prime Minister added that the main task of this strategy session is team building. As part of the joint work, the participants will discuss the main conditions and stages of the formation of world-class campuses, the features of the mechanism of concession agreements and organizational and management models of the project. Foreign experts from the Netherlands, Spain and Finland will share their experience and practices.

“The creation of world-class campuses at Russian universities will provide advanced infrastructure for a comfortable stay for students. Young people will be able not only to study and live on the territory of the university, but also to play sports, to realize their creative and research potential. Students will have access to educational and laboratory buildings, libraries and hostels, recreation areas, cafes and shops, sports grounds and administrative centers. Such measures will make regional universities attractive and interesting places for young people, a place for discovering talents. Thanks to the joint efforts of universities, regions, private investors and the support of the Russian Government, most of the campuses that we selected in the first place have already entered the active phase, for example, at NSU and IKBFU. Kant, design work is underway, and at the Moscow State Technical University. NE Bauman construction is underway. In addition, today a government customer has been identified for half of the campus projects. It was the public-law company “One Customer in the Construction Industry”, ”said Valery Falkov.

Alexei Chekunkov, Minister of the Russian Federation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic, added: “One of the necessary conditions for the development of education is a modern, convenient university infrastructure. While the Far East has a low level of provision with hostels, there is only one modern campus for the entire federal district. Pilot projects have been developed for the construction of new, modern university campuses in the Khabarovsk and Primorsky regions. The interuniversity campus in Khabarovsk, which will unite a consortium of leading universities, will include a university educational complex, an innovation and technology center, a technopark, residential buildings, coliving, a cultural and business center, chemical and biological laboratories, and a 10,000-bed dormitory. In Primorye, a new campus will be created as part of the second phase of the Far Eastern Federal University. A new complex of dormitories for 6 thousand places, an educational center for working with gifted children for 950 places, and a scientific library will appear on Russky Island. These Far Eastern projects are participating in the competitive selection of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science and will provide Far Eastern students with comfortable living and learning conditions. “
