The training was aimed at the ability of the crews to ensure the survivability of ships in various combat and emergency situations.

During the exercise, the sailors worked out the tasks of localizing and extinguishing a fire in the ship’s premises, as well as eliminating holes in the ship’s hull and eliminating the flow of seawater, and improved their skills in using fire extinguishing equipment.

In training to extinguish the fire, the sailors had to equip themselves in firefighter suits as soon as possible, seal the burning compartment and stop the spread of fire with the elimination of ignition sources.

The exercises of the ship rescue teams were held at the special training complex “Caspian” in Baltiysk. This is a training complex in which various internal ship rooms and compartments are simulated, which allows the crews of the ships in conditions as close as possible to the real situation, with the actual flow of seawater and the ignition of bulkheads, to practice their skills to rescue the ship.

Seafarers take part in such training on a regular basis – in accordance with the requirements of the governing documents. It is worth noting that the capabilities of the UTK make it possible to simultaneously train up to 3 crews of modern corvettes on the complex within a month.
