Pupils of the Yekaterinburg Suvorov Military School were the first in Yekaterinburg to watch the feature film “Sky” dedicated to the feat of a 1987 graduate of the fifth company of the Hero of the Russian Federation School, Lieutenant Colonel Oleg Peshkov, who died in the Syrian Arab Republic in November 2015.

The premiere screening took place in one of the cinema halls in Yekaterinburg today. The Suvorovites of the fifth company and the officers-educators of the school watched the feature film.

Lieutenant Colonel Oleg Peshkov – military pilot, Hero of the Russian Federation, graduate of the fifth company of the Yekaterinburg Suvorov military school in 1987.

Since September 2015 he took part in the Russian military operation in Syria. On November 24, 2015, a Su-24 front-line bomber was shot down over Syrian territory. The crew ejected. During a parachute landing, Oleg Peshkov was killed by militants’ fire from the ground.

In 2016, by order of the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, General of the Army Sergei Shoigu, Lieutenant Colonel Oleg Anatolyevich Peshkov was forever enlisted in the lists of the fifth company of the Suvorovites of the Yekaterinburg Suvorov Military School. His name and military rank are pronounced daily during the evening verification.

In total, there are 12 graduates in the Yekaterinburg SVU – Heroes of the Soviet Union and the Russian Federation, seven of them were awarded the title of Hero of Russia posthumously.
