In connection with a sharp deterioration in the weather in the Primorsky Territory, in the formations and military units of the Pacific Fleet (Pacific Fleet) stationed in the region, storm readiness was announced in advance and is in effect.
The personnel and equipment of the fleet are ready for the coming disaster, and if necessary, if the situation of the last year repeats in the case of the “freezing rain”, they are able to provide assistance to the civilian population of the city of Vladivostok and municipalities of the region.
At the bases of the fleet forces, preparations were made in advance for the deterioration of weather conditions: additional mooring lines were brought in, the watch duty was strengthened, the ships were sealed and the property was secured in a storm-like manner. Damage control assets, rescue forces and support vessels have been tested and ready for action.
The duty forces of the auxiliary fleet detachment and the search and rescue support of the Pacific Fleet are prepared to ensure the safe anchorage of ships and vessels. In addition, the crews of the Pacific Fleet vessels are ready to provide assistance to civilian vessels in the event of emergency situations.
In the coastal units, standard autonomous power supplies have been checked and prepared for immediate use, road trips to public roads have been limited, and the service by officers of the military automobile inspection has been strengthened. A number of naval aviation airfields operate with restrictions.
At the headquarters of the Pacific Fleet, the situation is monitored around the clock, groups have been formed to promptly respond to possible changes in the situation, interaction with the regional Ministry of Emergencies and other departments has been established.
In the Primorsky Territory, according to the regional Ministry of Emergency Situations, in the afternoon of November 22 in the southern half of the Territory and on the eastern coast, heavy precipitation is expected up to 50 mm. On the night of November 23, heavy precipitation, mainly in the form of snow, will occur on the eastern coast and spread to the northern half of the region. The expected amount of precipitation is up to 50 mm.
Fallout of precipitation will be accompanied by the adhesion of snow on wires and trees. Ice and snow can be seen on the roads. In the continental part, the wind is likely to increase up to 22 m / s, on the coast – in gusts up to 25 m / s. On the rivers of the southern and eastern regions, water level rises up to 1.8 meters are possible, as well as short-term water outflows from low banks.
