The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation held a preventive action dedicated to the World Day of Remembrance for Victims of Road Traffic Accidents.

During the action, military traffic inspectors at the posts conducted explanatory work with the drivers of military vehicles on the observance of the Road Traffic Rules. In addition, the drivers were given memorandums with information about the history and goals of the campaign.

Improving road safety is one of the priority tasks for the Main Directorate of the Military Police of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. A set of consistent measures carried out by military traffic inspectors is aimed at solving it. So, for military personnel, classes are regularly held, during which the circumstances, causes and consequences of road accidents are brought to light. Also, military warriors are regularly shown training films aimed at promoting road safety.

In October 2005, the United Nations General Assembly, by its resolution, declared the third Sunday of November as World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims.
