Their use reduces the severity of the consequences of an accident.

More than 90 kilometers of road crash barriers have been repaired in Moscow this year. This was announced by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow in the Moscow Government for housing and communal services and improvement Peter Biryukov.

“Repair of barrier fences is one of the important areas of work of road services, this year more than 90 kilometers of such structures have been repaired. Their use helps to reduce the severity of the consequences of road accidents, ”said Pyotr Biryukov.

Most often, work was carried out on sections of ring and outbound highways, including on the Moscow Ring Road, the Third Transport Ring, Leningradsky Prospekt, Leningradskoye and Kievskoye Highways, and Prospekt Mira.

Barriers are repaired all year round. The work is carried out in the shortest possible time – the elimination time for one emergency section is from one and a half to two hours, depending on its length.

“In the capital, modern barriers are used that can hold a vehicle weighing up to nine tons at a speed of 60 kilometers per hour. The previous ones were able to cope with loads of up to 3.5 tons, ”the deputy mayor added.

In total, over the past eight years, about 792 kilometers of metal fences damaged in road accidents have been repaired in the capital.
