During the visit, Dmitry Chernyshenko got acquainted with the developments of the NEVOD scientific and educational center and greeted the organizers and guests of the seventh annual scientific and practical conference of the International Network Institute in the field of combating money laundering and terrorist financing (AML / CFT) “Threats and risks of financial security in the context digital transformation “.

The conference was attended by Director of the Federal Service for Financial Monitoring Yuri Chikhanchin, Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Nikolai Zhuravlev, Director of the V.P. Ivannikov Institute for System Programming of the Russian Academy of Sciences Harutyun Avetisyan, Director of the Central Economics and Mathematics Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences Albert Bakhtizin, and I. O. Rector of the National Research Nuclear University “MEPhI” Vladimir Shevchenko, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science, rectors of financial universities, Russian and foreign experts in the field of financial security.

In his opening remarks, Dmitry Chernyshenko recalled that digital transformation is one of the five national goals identified by President Vladimir Putin, and in parallel with the creation of new convenient services for citizens and businesses, it is necessary to monitor risks and work to prevent cyberattacks.

“Our task is to ensure the security of citizens and the state from information threats. Today, it is science and the latest technologies that guard personal data, protect against cyber threats and solve financial security issues. The development of reliable information systems guarantees us the transparency and stability of the global and national financial systems. The focus is on the financial security of an individual in the context of globalization and digitalization. It is necessary to teach the young generation the basics of financial literacy, ”said Dmitry Chernyshenko.

“In the era of digitalization, it is impossible to do without the use of innovative technologies and services, including in education. Therefore, an important task is to unite the potential of government agencies, educational and scientific communities, as well as industrial partners to launch digital multifunctional tools for working with youth and teaching financial literacy. To this end, we propose to create a digital platform “Commonwealth”, which will become a single educational space. It will expand access to knowledge for young people, provide an opportunity for self-preparation and self-realization, ”added Yuri Chikhanchin.

“I think the creation of the platform is a correct and timely initiative. This is one of the most important decisions of the conference. In order to launch the platform as soon as possible, the Government, together with Rosfinmonitoring, the Central Bank, systemically important banks and other interested parties, will soon hold a kick-off meeting at the Coordination Center, ”said Dmitry Chernyshenko.

The Deputy Prime Minister drew attention to the fact that a lot of work to improve the financial literacy of young people has already been carried out within the framework of the first International Olympiad on Financial Security. It was organized at the initiative of President Vladimir Putin. Dmitry Chernyshenko noted the great contribution to its conduct by Rosfinmonitoring and personally by the head of the department, Yuri Chikhanchin.

At the REC, Dmitry Chernyshenko also examined the NEVOD experimental complex, a unique megascience-class installation created at MEPhI. Fundamental scientific results of the world level were obtained on it and a new method of muonography of the surrounding space was developed.

“This is a unique laboratory where virtual analogs of real and future installations are being created. And it is very valuable that not only laboratory staff, but also students of all MEPhI branches can use the tools of virtual and augmented reality combined with nuclear physics modeling. This allows them to see live processes that are inaccessible to the human eye, which they were told about in lectures. For example, the creation of elementary particles, neutron and radiation fields. This approach to education encourages young people to engage in science, which is one of the priority areas of the Government’s work, ”noted Dmitry Chernyshenko.
