The medical staff of the Airborne Forces (Airborne Forces) is helping the medical institutions of the Tula region in the fight against the new coronavirus infection.

Military medics of the Airborne Forces continue their daily work in a covid hospital, organized on the meringue of the Tula Regional Hospital, where they provide medical assistance to the civilian population undergoing treatment for COVID-19.

Military doctors of the “winged guard” both in the reception room and in the “red zone”: in the wards and intensive care units. Their responsibilities include the appointment of treatment, examination, measurement of pressure, saturation, bypass.

The work schedule of the Airborne Forces medical staff is five working days with two days off with day shifts.

All the medical personnel of the Airborne Forces, who arrived to assist colleagues in the medical institutions of the Tula region, have practical experience of such work in the red zone. The vast majority of doctors and nurses took part in helping the population of Italy and Serbia to fight the new coronavirus infection in 2020.

Antikovidny hospital for the civilian population of the region, functioning on the basis of the Tula regional hospital, is designed for 100 beds, 6 of which are in the intensive care unit. Currently, there is not a single free space in the medical facility, and there is an acute shortage of qualified medical personnel with experience in combating the new coronavirus infection.

Earlier, the President of the Russian Federation gave an order to provide assistance to the regions by the medical personnel of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

In pursuance of this order, the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation issued instructions to send more than 100 additional military doctors from the medical units and military medical organizations of the Eastern, Southern and Western military districts, the Northern Fleet, the Strategic Missile Forces and the Airborne Forces to provide medical assistance to the population of the Tula region in the fight against COVID-19.
