Domestic and foreign companies will work to improve innovative technologies in the field of healthcare.
Acceptance of applications for participation in the accelerator of medical startups Future healthcarewill end on December 1.
“Applications for participation in the Future Healthcare accelerator will end in a week. Since September, we have already received more than 100 applications, but we will be glad if even more teams with promising technological products in the healthcare sector join our project, ”said Vyacheslav Shulenin, General Director of the Moscow Center for Innovative Technologies in Healthcare, which launched the Future Healthcare accelerator.
131 startups from Russia and Europe submitted applications. There are interesting developments among the projects. For example, one of the domestic teams operating on the basis of the Skolkovo innovation center is engaged in the automation of laboratory microscopy. For this, specialists use methods of computer vision and artificial intelligence. The app recognizes and counts blood cells in real time. To conduct the analysis, you need a smartphone and a small adapter lens.
Another domestic project is a predictive analytics system that determines the risks of diseases in patients. Artificial intelligence processes anonymized data from medical records.
A team from St. Petersburg has developed a non-contact medical complex for rehabilitation, diagnostics and remote work with patients. Elements of gamification help increase their involvement in the treatment process and increase the chances of successful recovery from serious injuries.
Several European startups have also applied for participation in the accelerator. For example, a project from Germany is dedicated to the development of an application for training the user’s mental abilities and developing cognitive skills. Classes are also in demand in rehabilitation after serious illnesses and brain injuries.
Researchers in Turkey are working on contact lenses based on biosensor technology. They help monitor intraocular pressure in glaucoma patients and people in high-risk groups.
The project from Bulgaria is based on the screening and monitoring of abnormalities and inflammatory processes associated with breast cancer, cardiovascular and other diseases, using artificial intelligence analysis of thermal images.
The accelerator will enable startups to launch pilot projects both on the basis of Moscow healthcare institutions and on the basis of a network of one of the largest private clinics in the country. In addition, participants will be able to receive feedback and opinions from medical specialists, study technologies and test them on samples of medical data, as well as receive compensation for the costs of testing innovative products in the amount of up to two million rubles.
Among the areas of the acceleration program are technologies for analyzing big data and the use of artificial intelligence to support medical decision-making, medical devices for collecting and analyzing data, services for remote monitoring of patients’ condition and services of preventive medicine, biohacking aimed at monitoring the health of patients.
To participate in an accelerator, a company must have a finished product or MVP (minimum viable product) and a team to refine, launch and test it.
