According to the plan, the program should be completed by 2032.

The implementation of the renovation program in the capital is proceeding strictly in accordance with the schedule. The large-scale work on resettlement of Muscovites to new housing should be completed by 2032. This was reported by Sergei Sobyaninin an interview with RIA Novosti.

“The task is simply gigantic, not so big, but simply gigantic. Such a volume of relocation of citizens to new housing can be found in few places in the world. Moreover, we do it for free. God forbid, of course, to cope with this task by 2032. So far, we are going strictly according to plan, ”said the Mayor of Moscow.

According to him, the most difficult stages were the design of new districts, the approval of planning projects, their discussion with citizens, and the selection of launch sites. The first houses have already been built, old ones have been demolished, more and more building sites are available.

“A kind of chain reaction arises, and the further you enter it, the more opportunities you have to build, and the larger the scale of the work. While we are going according to plan, this year the plan will probably even be slightly overfulfilled. But the scale is such that I still would not give any unreasonable promises that we will do it faster. We have to do it on time, and if it succeeds, it will be generally great, because the scale and complexity of this program is really just gigantic, ”said Sergei Sobyanin.

The renovation program has been implemented in Moscow since 2017. Since that moment, within the framework of the program, 162 new buildings with a total area of 2.1 million square meters have been erected in the capital.

At the same time, other housing is being built in the city. So, in Moscow since the beginning of the year, they have commissioned six million residential square meters. This is twice as much as in recent years.

“If you look at the statistics from 2012 to 2014–2015, we commissioned about three million square meters, this year we commissioned six million. This is a record in the entire history of Moscow. Therefore, the volume of supply has grown, but demand is also growing, firstly. Secondly, good mortgage conditions, preferential mortgages also gave impetus. And an important factor, of course, is interregional migration, ”said the Mayor of Moscow.

Thus, 40 percent of housing in the Troitsky and Novomoskovsky administrative areas is purchased by visitors from other regions, the rest – by Muscovites. At the same time, about 80 percent of housing inside the Moscow Ring Road is bought by Muscovites.
