From November 16 to November 30, a training camp for sports and technical training of the Russian Armed Forces volleyball team, preparing for the III World Cadet Games in 2022 in St. Petersburg, was organized at the CSKA sports center “Vatutinki”.

The gathering is attended by 17 athletes from eight universities of the Russian Ministry of Defense: VIFK, VI (IT), VmedA, MVVA (all – St. Petersburg), TVVIKU (Tyumen), VA VKO (Tver), VUNC VVS VVA ( Voronezh), VUNC VVS VVA (Chelyabinsk).

The team conducts training under the guidance of the Honored Volleyball Coach of Russia, Reserve Colonel Sergei Tsvetnov and Deputy Head of the Sports Games Department of the Military Institute of Physical Culture, Major Arkady Tikhonchuk.

General management is entrusted to the head of the team – the senior coach of the sports team (in military-applied and non-Olympic sports), the master of sports of Russia, captain Alexei Fedoseev.

This collection is the first stage of preparation for the Games. Next year, three training camps are planned, as well as the holding of the Spartakiad of universities of the Ministry of Defense of Russia (April 11-17), where an expanded team will be formed to participate in the III World Cadet Games.

On the eve, the national volleyball team of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation held the first friendly match at the site of the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia. The game ended with a score of 3: 0 in favor of the Russian Armed Forces team.

The next friendly match will take place on November 26 at the sports ground of the Vatutinki center.
