The initiator of the creative event was the Public Relations Center of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia. Significant assistance in the selection and evaluation of paintings was provided by the Union of Artists of the city of Moscow, with which the penitentiary department entered into a cooperation agreement.

The exhibition, which was opened in October at the Russian Ministry of Justice, presents more than 100 various paintings by UIS employees, their relatives and service veterans. Viewers will see how the world looks through the prison bars, will be able to appreciate the original portraits and landscapes.

The relay baton for the further holding of the Keep the Hope exhibition was taken over by the St. Petersburg University of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia. Teachers, staff and cadets of the university get acquainted with the pictures placed on its site. They discuss creative work with interest, argue and choose favorites.
