The team of the A.F. Mozhaisky Military Space Academy took part in the Championship of St. Petersburg in kettlebell lifting.

More than 130 athletes from 15 teams took part in the competition. The national team of the A.F. Mozhaisky included 17 cadets and officers.

The program of the competition included the classic disciplines of kettlebell lifting – biathlon, long cycle clean and jerk and men’s relay. Long cycle jerk and jerk in women. This start was a qualifying one for the national team of St. Petersburg in kettlebell lifting.

The competitions were held in compliance with all epidemiological measures, without spectators and with a limited number of athletes who are simultaneously in the sports complex.

The champions of St. Petersburg were: Master of Sports, 61-year cadet, Private V.V. Kosukhin. (Long cycle) and candidate for master of sports, 24-year cadet, private D.M. Kozlov (Biathlon). The silver medal was won by the master of sports, associate professor of the 31st department, lieutenant colonel S.V. Nikiforov. (biathlon). The third step of the podium was climbed: Master of Sports, course officer-teacher of Faculty 8 Tikhomirov V.V. (long cycle), candidate for master of sports, 55th year cadet A.A. Leontyev (long cycle) and an athlete of the 1st category, cadet of the 25th course, private Seryogina S.A. (jerk).

Our relay team as part of Art. Lieutenant V.V. Tikhomirov, cadet I.B. Mayorov, V.V. and cadet Kozlov D.M. also won the bronze medals of the championship.

According to the results of two days of competition, the team of the A.F. Mozhaisky Military Space Academy became the Champion of St. Petersburg. In second place is the team of the Military Institute of Physical Culture. And the bronze went to the team of the Mikhailovskaya Military Artillery Academy.

Such outstanding results became possible only thanks to the efforts of each team member, well-organized training camps for the competition, as well as the excellent work of the coaching staff – the Honored Coach of Russia, the teacher of the 117th department, Sergei Aleksandrovich Kirilov, and the senior teacher of the 117th department, Dmitry Aleksagdrovich Dubrovin.

Congratulations to all the participants of the competition with personal achievements and prizes! We wish the VKA team not to stop at the achieved results, and worthily represent the Academy at the Cup of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, which will be held in December 2021.
